PHOTOJOURNALISM
1st Place | Cindy Brown / C Brown Photo
- I have seen a bride check her pulse before walking down the aisle, but not a groom. This is hilarious! To me, it would be a stronger image in black and white.
- So nervous gotta check your heart rate. Never seen this in a wedding image and really captures what is occurring without interruption. Simply great!

4th Place | Jenny Tarpley / VISIO Photography
- I love the mood of this image. The toning is a touch to much and I wish the couple was not so centered. Other wise great capture.
- Really enjoy the toning in this image with the high grain.
5th Place | Cindy Brown / C Brown Photo
- This stands out to me and I keep looking back at it. Her expression and Jesus' expression in this well known portrait of him -and the fact that she happened to be standing in just the right spot for this - I love it. This is truly artistic for the photographer to see this.

LAUGHTER
1st Place | Perry Adams Photography / Perry Vaile Photography
- Love the simplicity of this image and how everything is connected. It makes me wonder what was said that was that funny. This image allows me to connect with the subjects and enjoy the moment with them. Nice Pic!
- I want to know what the joke is. The guy on the left leads me to believe it was a little emabarrasing. Great moment.
- Timing is everything and it was captured perfectly here. The lighthearted feeling, the light, even the way the bride has her hand near her face -even her shoulders show she is laughing -all work together to make this a strong image.
2nd Place | Kate Turner Pope / Craven Creative

ARCHITECTURE
1st Place | James Tarpley / VISIO Photography
- The colors, the lines, the rule of thirds -it is all working perfectly in this image!
- Dont we all wish there was a place like this here, great framing, to me the architecture is still the focus of the picture.
- This is so not fair. How can you not pass something like this up as a photographer. Beautiful colors, architecture, and framing of the subjects. Great job!
2nd Place | Veronica Tomany Jones / Veronica Tomany Photography
- WOW, this was probably my favorite image of all images entered, I had to take a double take to even see the actual couple. I love the softness, I love how everything flows, I love the reflection I love everything about this image. Well done.
- A very abstract way of seeing and engagement shoot and I like it. The lines lead me to the couple and the reflection is key. Nice vision by the photographer.
3rd Place | Gina Lumsden Kropf / GinaMcLean Photography
- Wow. This image popped off the screen after viewing all the images in the category. Wonderful use of framing the subject and showing the beauty of the buildings outside.
- Creative image that really pops
4th Place | Jim Colman / Jim Colman Photography
- Love light the lighthouse and the perspective the photographer took to create this image. Would have love to have seen this photograph made at sunset with a little strobe. Nice image!
- You can never go wrong with a lighthouse! These are great colors, by the way.
- Love that the photographer left empty space above the lighthouse, this image is perfectly exposed, well done.
5th Place | Joe Payne / Joe Payne Photography
- There is an element of darkness vs. light in this that intrigues me. The lines of the railings draw you right into an intimate moment of the bride getting ready. The fact that it feels as if you've walked into something as an outsider is appealing to me.
