General Information:

The 3rd annual WPS convention promises to be even bigger, better and filled to the brim with great speakers. As we do each year, we took your responses from the previous years convention survey so you can tell US what you want and implemented it this year. We'll be updating this page with developments so please make sure to check back often to see the latest updates.

A few teasers for what we have in store for you:

Shooting sessions will be led by world renowned photographers.
More scheduled social events
Multiple class format so you can pick your own convention experience
Vendors in the hall! A great way to meet and see products in an intimate environment.
Even more diverse topics - workflow, print competition, lighting & more!

The location is to be announced as we are working out the final details with the hotel for a room rate and meeting rooms. As SOON as we have this information we will update this webpage.

What to bring?

The great thing about photography conventions, if you've never been to one before, is the likelihood an impromptu shooting session will break out during a late night chat, or perhaps a favorite photographer of yours pops into a conversation. Conventions are an immersive experience and we highly encourage you to bring a few things to facilitate your time here:

∙ Camera Body, a couple of lenses, a speedlight or small light of choice
∙ Plenty of batteries, memory cards, etc
∙ Laptop, iPad, memory card reader
∙ Water bottle
∙ Notepad
∙ Aspirin (not saying, just saying).
∙ Comfortable Shoes
∙ Comfortable clothing - In August, temperatures can get into the high 90's and it's HUMID, so make sure you're bringing clothes that you can be outside in and be comfortable.

There are 4 tiers of pricing for the 2012 WPS convention and a MAXIMUM of 130 attendees.

Trust (275) - This is where you, well, trust us to give you a great convention experience. As we finalize the speakers (and announced a few), the convention price is lower. There are only 30 tickets available at that price so sign up quickly.

Standard (325) - Standard convention rate

Procrastinator (375) - With so much to coordinate, any registrations that come in AFTER August 5th, 2012 will be subjected to a last minute rate.

Student (150) - WPS student members can sign up for this rate. A valid student ID will be required and it's mandatory that the student be an Aspiring or Student member of the WPS. If your account is incorrectly setup, please let us know!
